NASA Road Atlanta March 2010 Round Up

Great time at Road Atlanta!

MTI Racing Corvette beats GTR, customers improve track times, and 2hrs of shananigans at the Japanese Steakhouse.

Although the weekend weather outlook was great, Friday's test day was a rainy mess. Cats and dogs fell out of the sky during the morning sessions. With "rivers" flowing through turns 1 and 4, we should have raced the MTI-Zodiac (see pic). Even the ambulance was sliding on track. The MTI Racing Corvette did a simple handling test of the car then put it in the trailer.

On Saturday, the weather cleared up to overcast with slight drizzles. We had six customers there running their Corvettes, having a blast. The track was mostly dry and all cars ran without any issues. Jeff ran on Hoosier tires for the first time, and loved them! Gene ran awesome as always, and Mike drove his 500cu.in. TVS Supercharged Z06 out for the first time. After qualifying last on the grid due to a timing error, Reese Cox drove the MTI Racing C6R up to the front in Saturday's race, giving him the fastest time of the day for Sunday's race.

After the racing was done, 13 people headed out for "high-spirited activity" at the Japanese Steakhouse. The social aspect at the restaurant is so much fun. Even Chad drove 1 hr from south Georgia to meet at the Steakhouse. Sushi here and there, who knows how many drinks were poured, and hilarious conversation. Two hours later, we all went home with stomach pains from good food and laughter.
